What we do... Volunteer Broward provides training for individuals, community and faith-based organizations, and businesses so that volunteers are equipped with the know-how to assist their fellow neighbors in the event of a disaster. Our Disaster Response Team Trainings are offered throughout hurricane season at both Volunteer Broward or at your place of business or worship, based on need. For more information about Disaster Response Team training, email Ambar Suero at ambar@volbrow.org
Many senior citizens and people with disabilities lack the physical strength to install their existing hurricane shutters. Volunteer Broward provides a program called Shutter Assistance For the Eldery (SAFE) where volunteers work together in small groups to install shutters on the homes of those folks who cannot do it themselves. We already have more than 100 senior citizens registered for this program, but need volunteers to sign up in order to be able to provide the SAFE program. For more information or to sign up to volunteer, contact Ambar Suero at ambar@volbrow.org
Volunteer Broward is a member of the Broward County Long Term Recovery Coalition as we are committed to providing volunteers and donations of essential items to hurricane victims immediately after a storm and throughout the ensuing aftermath.
